What to do on your day off? This is a question we all ask every week. The answer is getting harder these days. Rising fuel prices are keeping more people close to home on the weekends today. You work hard all week and the weekend is your time to relax and have fun.

Your local newspaper is a great place to find out what’s happening in your local area. Some activities for your day off will depend on your geographical area. Some places to find great things to do on the weekend are:

  • Local Newspaper
  • Local Radio
  • Local library bulletin boards

Some ideas for your weekend are:

  1. Rent a video: This is a very affordable activity that the whole family can enjoy.

I saw your post on Unclutterer, and I subscribed to your RSS feed.

My favorite thing to do on my day off is take a walk through some neighborhood in my city that I haven’t explored before – especially if it has quirky/unique/historic homes. I like noting the dates stamped into the sidewalk, getting the vibe of the area, enjoying being a pedestrian . . .

Would love to do most things on the list but even renting dvd is out of the question at the moment. Going to Explore Newcastle Quayside and take abstract Architectural photos and photos of graffiti. Will update my flickr. If interested have a look on Nicspicandmix.

I like to go on a forest walk and breath fresh air, if i am in the suberbs i find fresh food markets and walk around finding the best value and thinking how i can prepare it later on for tea. My experience has shown me that the free things are better, walk and breath and enjoy the time that you have while no one is bothering you with everyday work issues. The time its self is what i value. If i sit down i dont play with my mobile phone just to look busy, i like to just simply anjoy a clod or hot drink and think of the taste And sometimes i buy a plain bread roll for just 50 cents and enjoy the simple taste of it.

Sit at home and reflect on the hard week you have had at work and have a nice cup of tea. Read the local paper, watch the news and at about 10am have a shower. After shower have toast for breakfast, then go out mow the lawn, play with cats, wash dishes, sweep the floor then get ready and go for a small run (maybe like 1 or 2 miles max). Have lots to drink when you get back and sit and relax for 10 minutes. play footy manager for a bit, go for a drive at about 5:30pm, get back an hourlater and have some stew. Read a few pages of book, have a cup of tea, discuss the news headlines, watch tv, go to bed.
Maybe not everybody’s cup of tea but sometimes on your day off it is nice to keep thing simple and have a nice relaxing day. When you waiting for payday its the perfect type of day to experience:)

Right its 9:50 im going for my shower.
